With the holiday season quickly approaching, we’ve enjoyed seasonal stories about all kinds of pets this week.
From a woman who challenged a husky dressed up as a Christmas tree to find her, to a cat who decided to rearrange his owner’s decorations while the family was sleeping.
We also spoke to experts about keeping your beloved pets safe during the festival. A veterinarian has warned of a ‘dangerous’ pet Christmas light trend, while another animal expert has revealed which Christmas decorations dog owners should avoid this year.

This week’s Pet of the Week is Frenchie, a rescue dog with some pretty adorable bedtime habits.
Owner Claudia Vega described her companion dog as a “trouble maker.” newsweek She was adopted from the streets of Mexico.
Now 14 years old, Vega and her beloved Frenchie have had many adventures together and frequently visit people throughout the United States and Mexico.
But no matter where Frenchie is, she always makes sure to make her bed comfortable by fluffing up the blankets before settling on it.
“She taught me that a dog’s love is unconditional,” Vega said.
Their connection deepens as Frenchie and his owner also survive cancer. Vega explained, “She is a survivor who fought cancer and we are both cancer survivors. Sometimes I feel like she is the benefactor of my soul.”

This week’s first finalist is Max, an 11-year-old Shih Tzu who is helping his owner Christine Mueller overcome social anxiety.
“Max is very important to me,” the Wisconsin resident said. newsweek.
Max, who often goes out with his owner, is very reassuring during difficult times and is also great at cuddles.
Next up this week is the naughty but precious Nea. The 4-year-old rescue dog, also known as “Naughty Nia,” lives in Minnesota with her owner, Maria Slusser.
“Why are dogs so cute and so mischievous?” she said, laughing. newsweek Her rescue dog has recently been able to eat almost an entire loaf of bread straight from the fridge.
“She generously left two slices, and when I took her to the dog park thinking she needed to be off carbs, she immediately threw them all in my car,” Slusser said.
But thankfully, Nea is very cute and despite her antics, she remains firmly in her owner’s good books.
The last dog of the week is Mickey, a senior dog. He lives in Roseville, California, with his owner, Patricia Hansen, and was adopted from the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Hansen said she thinks her pup is “the best dog in America.”
