Erica Simone Smith passes away Thursday, December 7th In 2023, at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Maryland, God called her name and released her from all worldly pain. She was born March 18, 1990 in Seaford to Corlett Snead and Cedric Johnson.
Affectionately known as “Eli” by her family and friends, she attended and received her education within the Del Mar School District.
She was self-employed as a pet groomer and loved being able to express each dog's individuality through different haircuts and polished nails.
Some of Eli's favorite hobbies were expressing his thoughts and feelings through various paintings as an artist and being very bold in his makeup selection and application. She also loved spending considerable time with her sister and her buddy Brittany. A lover of dogs and animals, she shared a special bond with her cousin Ivan. Her godmother, Leslie, also always held a special place in her heart.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Corlett (Kevin) Ainsworth of Delmar; Her father is Cedric Johnson of Laurel. her three siblings, Christopher (Lolita) Smith of Seaford, Phylicia (Frank) Smith of Millsboro, and Brittany Smith of Delmar; her grandparents, Arthur and Phyllis DeShields of Delmar and Irma (Willie) Dasher of Laurel; her aunts, Gwen Bridell of Seaford, Jacqueline (Bobby) Bull of Georgetown, Amy Horsey of Laurel, Valarie Johnson of Laurel, and Mita Johnson of Laurel; and one uncle, Pierce (Tysonya) DeShields of Smyrna. She also had two nieces, Jenae Smith and Amiyah Smith. two nephews, William Abbott Jr. and Christopher Smith Jr.; and many cousins.
