Former model Katie Price has been left distraught after her beloved German Shepherd dog, Blade, died after he was hit by a car close to her home
Katie Price’s German Shepherd, Blade, has died, close to her home after being struck by a car she has confirmed.
The incident which has left the former model feeling “numb and shocked” took place on the same road where another one of her dogs, Sharon, was also struck – seven months prior.
Katie, 45, took to Instagram to share the news that she had lost her “best friend” and “protector” had died.
Mum-of-five Katie welcomed Blade into her life in 2019, shortly after she was held at gunpoint during a carjacking in South Africa.
She penned: “Words can’t express the lost of my best friend my protector my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today I have no words to say how I’m feeling but numb and shocked rip Blade.”
In recent months, a petition to prevent Katie from owning animals has soared, with over 30,000 people signing it after seven of her pets died.
Over the course of six years, she has lost five dogs, a horse as well as a chameleon.
Katie’s upset comes three years after her French Bulldog, Rolo, reportedly died at her home after suffocating to death after becoming trapped in an armchair.
The star had purchased the adorable pooch in a bid to cheer Princess, then 13, up after her dog Sparkle was killed after being hit by a car.
The Alsation had been adopted by Katie in January 2019 but reports suggest it sadly escaped from her home in West Sussex and darted for the A24.
Elsewhere, another dog, Bear, is believed to have had several near-death experiences on the same road but was found by a policeman.
Following an encounter with another dog in April 2019, Katie rehomed Bear due to him running away and biting another dog.
Katie’s German Shephard, Queenie, was also killed during what she claimed to be a hit-and-run incident caused by a “heartless delivery driver”.
Her Pomeranian pooch, Sharon, was also run over after escaping onto the nearby A24.
She faced a devastating blow when one of her unnamed horses escaped from her fields and escaped and suffered a similar fate on the busy road.
Meanwhile, her Chameleon, Marvin, died after reportedly suffering from a broken heart after he remained at Mucky Mansion when her son Junior moved in with her ex-husband, Peter Andre.
The petition which was launched on Change.org makes many claims against the mum-of-five, including accusations of her “leaving animal faeces on the floor to grow mould, lack of care and [animals] are trained to attack.”
