This weekend, Arlington's furry friends are ditching the sticks for Halloween treats.

Some local spots are going all out with dog-friendly Halloween events, but one venue is taking it to the next level.

The puppies take over Ballston's commentary.

This Saturday, “Pups on the Patio” will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Commentary Social House at The Westin Arlington, 801 North Glebe Road.

Dogs up for adoption from the Lost Puppy and Cat Protection Foundation will appear wearing their Halloween vests. Puppies will be able to eat “dog food” such as chicken strips and sweet potato bites. Additionally, 20% of the proceeds from these dishes will be donated directly to the rescue foundation.

On Sunday, The Commentary will host “Howl-O-Ween Canine Costume Garden Soiree” from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. “Dog Cooking” will be back, with a mini photo shoot by Bright Eyes Photo DC, followed by a costume contest.
